milu doesn't like to eat out of the dish either.
honestly, i think it's kind of good that your baby wants to eat out of your hand.
when i went to puppy school with milu, they told us to hand feed the dogs and play with their food while they eat. this way the dogs will learn to not bite people when people try to take away their food, and also, they will learn to have soft mouth and being careful not to bite your hand when you are feeding them.
