My puppy would cry every night when I put him in the crate, sleep for about four hours, get up to go out, cry again and then only sleep for another two hours or so. I was exhausted! I kept thinking - you wanted a puppy and you got one. lol He sleeps next to my bed so I would let him know I was right there and then I would ignore him. It sounds harsh but it only made him cry more when I would do anything else. I thought about just letting him sleep on the bed with me but he was so small I knew I would get even less sleep worrying about rolling over on him. It lasted for about three months but now he sleeps fine. I also put a blanket over the crate and that did help. Good luck. |
