I was "allowed" to do Tatum's for about her first year. Then she started fighting me. She will let me do absolutely everything else. Even sits perfectly still while I trim those little hairs with a scissors that point towards to her eyes. Even between her paw pads with a Wahl trimmer. But definitely not the nails anymore. I actually tried again about 6 months ago and ended up cutting the quick (first time ever) and it was a nightmare. Didn't think it would ever stop bleeding (not gushing, just spotting) and trying to get a bandage to stay on was awful. Didn't have any quick stop stuff and flour wasn't working well. Since then I've been told that cornmeal works better than flour - in case anyone needs that tip!
I do all the other grooming for her so I don't really care about the expense to have our vet tech do it every few months. Takes her no time at all to do all four paws - with no fight from Tatum! Go figure.
