Iams is not a high quality food. The second ingredient, Corn Meal and the third ingredient Chicken By-Product Meal are both ingredients best avoided. The first ingredient IS chicken, but this meat is inclusive of water content, and once that is removed, would be more accurately placed somewhat further down the ingredient list. (ingredients are listed in order of weight.) That leaves Corn Meal to be the main ingredient.
However, if it said chicken MEAL, it would be exclusive of water content.
I think the foods at PetSmart
are better than Walmart, but the best foods are found at pet stores? Do you have any in your area? Foods I'd recommend are Innova EVO, Origin, Wellness CORE, and Nature's Variety Instinct Chicken.
