We are going away (just overnight) later this month to a conference at a hotel that is not pet-friendly; my daughter & son-in-law are going with us too. Their house is in the midst of a huge remodel, so a friend is watching their little girl (my granddaughter) here at my house, and she doesn't mind watching Olivia too. She has a little yorkie-poo. Problem is, Olivia doesn't want to come out of her crate for anyone except me.
If I am late getting home and I want dh to let her out to potty, he has to actually reach in and get her out. Both of my daughters have said the same thing...they have been here at times when I wasn't and Olivia wouldn't come out for either of them. I don't like it that she's so timid that she won't even come out of her crate! They have tried treats, getting excited, being calm, just leaving the crate door open and go into the other room - all with no success.
