I always leave Finnigan with my sister when we go on trips. I make sure and bring his bed, his crate and toys, blankets not cleaned,so they smell familar. I also brought him over to visit several times before leaving him there the first time. When we drop him off we get everything situated food/bowls set up toys set up... and then just leave. Last time when we came home Finnigan acted like it was no big deal that we'd been gone! I also have a typed up instruction manual type thing that I leave with her telling her everything she could possibly want to know about him and then some!
