Just an update! Effie is feeling better. I kept checking her gums last night and they were getting more pale every time I checked, and she was shaking. I gave her some Nutrical, and called her "daddy" (bf who lives a mile from me in Chicago) to come over so that we could take her to the emergency vet.
She is absolutely in love with him. As soon as he came she was SUPER excited, jumping around and running to her food bowl. He loved her a little bit and half an hour later she seemed fine, gums were back, no shakes. After midnight it was bedtime, of course I stayed up watching her and she slept. This morning she is totally fine.
Any ideas on what could have went wrong?
