Hi, and welcome to yorkietalk!!! I have a Yorkie who is 5 years old. This is my first time having a small dog...my last dog was a Golden, but that was 20 years ago. There are a lot of good reason to have a Yorkie, but you do have to be careful because of their size. It is so east to spoil them because they are sooooooooo cute, and if you are an empty nester, you might tend to spoil them more. With a small dog, you do have to be very careful, about everything...dental care, collars (harnesses are better with a leash),temp.,food and vacs, to name a few. "yorkie mad" sounds a lot like me. Our lives have been changed, for the better. It's like having a baby again.
