Any mommys out there with old yorkies?

another question.

Do all yorkies have problems if they came from a puppy mill. Either a pet store/rescue. Im just so terrified. I dont want to go through heartbreak

I think that you see a lot of bad stuff in here, because we are a support group. Most of the time you need support in bad times. We look to each other for answers to problems. But if you read each post about bad things, there is sooooo much positive too! I have had dogs throughout my life, but nothing, NOTHING could have prepared me for Wookie. I never knew I could love something so much, or have it affect my whole life. Yorkies are very special. I think they do require a little more care though because of it. Also, any breed of dog you get will have certain things there breed is predispostioned to. Yorkies have the luxating patella, collapsed trachea, things like that. Its different for different breeds. While I think you will be more apt to experience those things with dogs from puppy mills/pet stores, I think you can also experience them from breeders just because of the nature of the breed. You will be more likely to end up with emotional issues with the puppy mill/pet store/resuce dog, but if you work at it, you can get through those. Don't let the negative things sway you, just know it takes effort and time and lots and lots of love! But, oh my goodness, the payback is sooooooooooo worth it!!!!
