I think in the end it comes down to knowing your dog and how they chew. If you have a dog that is a slow, careful chewer, chews like those are probably okay, but most dogs can't be trusted to not try to swallow huge chunks of things. Even if something is digestible, it can still become lodged in an animals throat if they try to swallow a big piece of it. You have to watch your dog when they're chewing anything, and be ready to take the chew away if needed.

I don't give Penny Greenies-- she chews really aggressively and tries to immediately devour any of those digestible-style treats I give her. It's Bully Sticks all the way for us.
