I think if you find the right breeder, it's easy to find the right yorkie. All puppies are cute, and some people think all dogs are cute, but I really think some dogs aren't that pleasant to look at. If you like the looks of a yorkie, find a breeder who breeds to standard, not someone who has a couple of dogs, and decided to hook them up. Breeding is a science as well as an art, and a good breeder must understand genetics in order to produce healthy beautiful dogs. They study pedigrees and don't just put just any two dogs together. I always recommend the YTCA to find a breeder, the YTCA is the mother club of the AKC, and sets the standard for the Yorkshire terrier. Show breeder's dogs are very affordable because they are actually trying to improve the breed, but they do set strict requirements on whose homes these dogs will go. The saying, "you get what you pay for is true to an extent. It's really hard to find a quality yorkie really cheap, but there are also many Websites that sell Yorkies, for way more than a show breeder would, and puppy millers run them. So price should not dictate the decision. I personally would rather save up, and buy from a reputable breeder because heath problems can be fanatically and emotionally draining. Good luck with your search. You'll find the YTCA link in my signature.
