We're thinking about getting a Yorkie pup around Easter.

I check the local classifieds every so often and most of the Yorkies for sale are ready now. A few offer to let you pick a Yorkie and leave a deposit but with the understanding the pup won't be available for several weeks up to 2 months.

I'd prefer to put a deposit down and wait as my perception is I'll be able to get the best of that litter. For some reason I always worry about the last pup to be sold from a litter thinking I'm getting the one nobody else wanted.

I'm really confused as to how to go about this. I'll drive around and look at some litters and would like to see both Mom and Dad before picking a pup but am not sure how to best go about this with the idea that I want a very healthy dog with a good family health history but also want it to be really cute and the right coloring. I like the black/tan dogs and not so much the silver colors.

Any thoughts or suggestions?
