Do you mean "can you convert it manually" - is that what you're asking ? Some dogs (and even some humans) cannot. If unable to convert it, it will still be a source of fiber (so, not a total waste) - but you wouldn't get the fatty acid benefits.

Cartilage is a connective tissue found all over the body - it looks like Innova is using it for their chondroitin source.
