I don't like microchips myself, I was the one who held my sons GSD while she was implanted and she looked me in the eye as it was implanted and her eyes went blood shot! I will never forget the look of pain in her eyes as she is looking at me.    
She is a big girl I can't imagine how the little dogs feel while they are being implanted and its totally not natural.  I myself do not want microchipped. 
Next thing you know they will mandate that we are microchipped.   
Key thing here to me is having the right to have a choice of wether you want it done or not to your pet.    |

Also the FDA apparently has approved microchips for humans but after doctors found out the microchips were causing cancer in lab animals they decided again pushing them for human use.

I know many people feel comfortable with microchipping their pets and that is their right but I would never do that to any of my babies.
