My biggest problem with this is the owner didn't want to do it but was forced to do it because she didn't have the right to make this choice herself. And her best friend was killed due to her having to do this proceedure against her own will.
I don't like microchips myself, I was the one who held my sons GSD while she was implanted and she looked me in the eye as it was implanted and her eyes went blood shot! I will never forget the look of pain in her eyes as she is looking at me.
She is a big girl I can't imagine how the little dogs feel while they are being implanted and its totally not natural. I myself do not want microchipped.
Next thing you know they will mandate that we are microchipped.
Key thing here to me is having the right to have a choice of wether you want it done or not to your pet.
