This sounds like a reverse sneeze
Some yorkies and other smaller breeds do this
It sounds very odd ... like a honking goose
One of my pups does it when he wakes up
and when he gets very excited
as far as the being skiddish
some pups are more scared of new things then others
The best way to battle that one is to open up his horizens
have him go to dog parks
give him love and treats when he's seeing and experiencing new things
Try not to console him when he is being skiddish
because that is rewarding that specific behavior
