My Pixie started with a "slightly off" LP - by the time she was a year old, she had grade 4 - and had to have both her back legs pretty much rebuilt. Then she had to relearn to walk again. Twice.

I didn't know when they first told me that "her knees are a little off, but we'll wait and see as she grows whether it gets better or worse" meant that she was going to have the problems she ended up with.

And it cost about $2000 with discounts to do all the surgeries she needed on her legs. Luckily I didn't have to pay it, but I know how much the store I bought her from had to pay.

I would beware of a puppy with this problem unless you have that kind of extra money laying around - or the breeder/seller is willing to cover ALL genetic defects such as this. That's the best advice I can offer from my experience. I hope it helps.
