In this post you indicate you interviewed three parti breeders. What was the question you asked to inquire about the deafness? You say you found no incidence of deafness, what question did you ask? Do you mean to say you should only ask, "Are there any health conditions that are associated wsith (sic) the parti yorkies"

There are generic questions we should ask of every breeder, but there are certain questions, one should ask relating to that specific breed, and since a parti is not part of the standard, it would seem that there would be specific questions to ask the parti breeder. This would seem even more important if purchasing the dog as breeding stock.

Concerning the question, "Are there any health conditions that are associated wsith (sic) the parti yorkies"?

What is the answer a person should hear to help them decide?

This was one of my questions.

Are there any health conditions that are associated wsith the parti yorkies that are not common with the traditional yorkie

No matter how I respomnd to this, It is going to be wrong in someones eyes, and there are a few that will twist it to make it wrong.

I answered you question.

As for the deafness. since there is no greater incidence of deafness in the parti color than there is in the traditional color, I see no reason to address the issue separately.

I did not indicate how many people I spoke to about the deafness. but the answer was 100% there has been no deafness in my line of yorkies.

I'm sorry dfdif you all are dissappointed with the answerd. But NO there has been no deafness associated with parti colored yorkies.

If it ever happens, we will address the issue.

Before te parti yorkie became weel know, did all the show breeders ask the breeders that they purchfased from if there had ever been parti colored puppies born in their line.

I am quessing NO they did not because it was not a known issue.

For those of you who are married with children

Before you choose a mate and had children did you have him tested for genetic defects. Certainly potential children deserve the same caution you would use for potential puppies.
