I could tell when my boys were 9 weeks old what kind of coat they had. Some do say that puppy hair will shed off and reveal a silky coat when the pup had a cotton coat. My Dexter and my Fletcher are both from the same litter of pups, brothers and they are about as opposite as yorkies can get. Has your pups coat started to turn silvery? I believe at 10 months you should be seeing some silver. I don't know about all cotton coats but my Dexter is cotton and he is solid black and tan, no silver in his coat. Can you attach a pic?
