I got Samson at 5 months old. My sister-in-law was pad training him so it worked out well for me. He did cry in his crate (missing mom and dad) for the first week but after that he got used to it. He would go to bed in the crate at 10:00 and wake up to potty at 3:00. Then he would come to bed with me til I woke up for work at 7:00. You can get one of those heated plush dog toys that your new Yorkie can snuggle with to help with the separation. I found one on Targets website for $17.99.
