The ball is a vitual ball. It's just a fun way to show off your Valentine's outfit for your furbabies. You don't need to have a date, you can just take a photo of your little one all dressed up and post it to this thread for me to use. You can start a thread in the Pictures forum though like some members have done and see if your little one can find a date.
