I always massaged Muffin from her ears to her tail - all over her body - her legs, too, including in between the pads of her feet and toes! It's a great therapy for them and great for bonding, too. She always loved it and would totally relax and she did look forward to it. I think it is a wonderful practice and one that helps to keep them healthy, especially as they age and become less active with stiffer muscles and possibly arthritis. I've read about a combination of a whirlpool and massage healing a dog that was partially paralyzed, so I certainly do recommend it. Kacee loves it, too.
