Of course she is loosing her baby teeth at this age. However, Yorkies
are known to loose their adult teeth too at an early age.
It's important to brush her teeth daily to keep them clean and free
of tartar. Gum desease also starts if the teeth are not kept clean.
There are times too when baby teeth don't fall out and the adult
tooth comes in. Food get's stuck between the teeth and decays which
also causes bad breath and bad teeth.
You can also use petzlife along with daily brushing. It is known to keep
tartar off the teeth and is only used 1-2 times a week along with
brushing daily. She is at an age where you can get her use to the brush
in her mouth. Use your finger at first with toothpaste on it. She'll wiggle
around but alittle at a time. Keeping the teeth clean is a must when
owning a Yorkie.
Buddy is now 5 and his teeth are sparkling white and he has everyone
of them intact.
Chewing on a beef bone, one that will fit her mouth is also another way
of cleaning the tartar off. They can be bought in any pet supply store.
They are already sterilized but you just have to get one that will fit
in her mouth. Good luck,
