So sorry this happened -- try not to blame yourself, things happen. She knows that you love her !!
Like the others have said, I don't understand why they said she has to be put under to do xrays -- never heard of that. If I were you I would check with your vet or another vet to see what they say.
Hope she is better very quicly !!!
