I have a yorkie
who should be going on her 6th heat cycle. It normally comes around this time of year. Her "area" is slightly enlarged (not the full giant size that it gets to). 2 days ago she had a whitish clear discharge (very water like) but there was no blood in it. She has not yet started spotting. We keep a white towel down on her bedding and there is nothing there. She has been licking frequently. She has her regular annual exam scheduled for next Thursday, but I was wondering if the clear discharge is normal before bleeding in yorkies. I can't really ever remember seeing it before. She is acting fine (if not hungrier than normal). Has she started proestrus or does that only start when there is blood?
