I personally do not use potty pads. I would rather my dog go outside than inside. I have crate trained fiona, and she was house broken by 3.5 months old. We live in Delaware, which we don't really get taat much snow, but it still does snow and gets cold outside. I just have her going on command, and when its really cold out, she will do her thing outside real fast and then come back in.
