I have seen a couple of small mothers deliver without major trouble so it's certainly possible. You will want to keep her away from stairs, protect her from any rough play, generally anything that might put undue pressure on her abdomen. One of the dangers is that she can rupture internal organs like the bladder. This can lead to sepsis and ....

I would also consider scheduling a c-section. She is going to need to be spayed anyway and this might be the right time for that, your vet can help you decide.

Now is the time to get your puppy kit ready too! Your going to have that new puppy smell before long. Good Luck!
