By all means give that baby some water. They dehydrate so easily. He will have gone almost 2DAYS! without food and water. I know the IV at the vet re-hydrated him some, but canned fatfree broth, a scrambeled egg, pedialyte or similar product. Keep an eye on his gums-should be nice and pink. White to gray are signs of shock and must be dealt with stat. Did the vet by any chance do a sub-Q fluid just before you brought him home? Mine do if I request it. Takes a few hours for that to absorb. Is he peeing and pooping normally? I am sure he will be alright but I would interview other vets in your area..
