The problem is that dogs love attention
They will take it whenever we give it to them and want more
What we have to do as owners is get them to be calm and content themselves with being alone for a few hours at a time
One thing that helps is when you leave
never give then hugs and kisses or even say goodbye
This sets up a give an take away situation where you are reinforcing the separation anxiety rather than lessening it
just make sure he has some toys and his bed to sleep and and leave
TV sometimes helps
Lights out if it's night
But a dog of nine months should be able to seep the night with or without you around
