I work at a vet clinic and we recommend daily brushings--if you can't do it everyday(I am too lazy to do it everyday, lol!!!), weekly is better then not at all. My 2 y/o will lay in my lap when I brush her teeth, my younger one is still learning--she likes to chew the toothbrush and lick the toothpaste. Our Dr says it helps just getting the toothpaste in the mouth, but brushing is best(just like us,lol). Good luck.
