The big post was awesome! Great advice. I agree with this. I've worked hard to "kid proof" my yorkies. Everytime a kid looks interested I invite them to pat the yorkies, some kids have been known to just run up and scoop Dixie up. She might not like it but she won't tell them off with a nip or growl.

Once your dog is eventually over his initial fear I'd recommend carrying treats and any time a kid looks interested offer to let them feed your wee fella a treat. the Kids'll love it and your dog will start to see them as a source of all things good. If you feel in control of the interaction your dog will pick up on your confidence.
