I have Embrace pet insurance now. Last year I lost my beloved little yorkie Teddy. He was only 6. I spent $16000 trying to save him. The last two weeks he was in a specialty hospital and just to be in intensive care was $800 a day, not counting anything else like meds or lab work. My neighbor spent $18000 on her dog when he had cancer. I don't want to ever refuse to have something done for my dog because I can't afford it. I spent a lot of time in that hospital and my bill wasn't all that unusual. With emergencies, specialists, lab work, tests and medicines the bill can go through the roof. I know with my insurance you can pick different things to keep the costs down also. I hope you never need to use it.
