 Need some advice please
Ok, I need some help! I am a new Yorkie owner. I have had my 4 month old baby "Loli" for 6 weeks now. I have not changed her food or treats. When my husband got home from work he noticed that she had not pooped all day. She was dragging hew bum on the floor and was straining. When he picked her up he noticed she was a little compacted around her rectum. He cleaned her up thinking that she was having difficulties having a BM do to the feces covering her bum. It was at this time that I walked in the door. Her anus looked a slight bit red. She still has not been able to poop even though she has tried.
I am an RN who works in women's health but am totally clueless when it comes to puppies! Loli is not being her perky self although she is still walking around. As a nurse I worry about bowel blockage but feel that she would be laying down wimpering if that were happening. I called the after hours vet who was no help at all. What should I do? I need some advise! Please fellow yorkie lovers with more experience than me...I need your help! Thanks so much! |
