Zoe's incision looks like there is a lot of extra skin that they bunched together at the ends. Does that make sens? Maybe it's because it's swollen. Not sure. Anyone have any insight on how the incision is supposed to look and the difference between the old method and the newer method? |

I am glad your little girl is doing well. From what you described it sounds very normal. That is how all mine looked after surgery. You would think it would leave a bad scar but with mine it healed nicely with a very small scar. All of the ones I have had spayed had external stitches that had to be removed.
As for the pain medicine, I have only used one vet that offered pain medicine and I had him give my two females pain medicine after the surgery and he kept the females overnight but he did no send them home with any pain medicine. The other I had spayed with a different vet did just fine with no pain medicine and I picked them up the same day. Personally I would not worry about it as long and she is acting fine.
