I dont know if you would call my Jewels skittish. Loud sounds dont bother her unless its like fireworks or something like that. She is a very nervous dog. We got her at 8 weeks and now she is 4 yrs and she has not changed. Like you we have never spoken harshly to her or anything but yet she is still nervous
