Have you heard of Jacqueline Wilson, I used to love her in my early teens. As I got into my late teens/early 20s I started reading books by Sophie Kinsella and Chris Manby. They are both very good writters, funny and witty and their series you can pick up and put down and don't need to be read in order.
That's my suggestion anyway.
