Advantage and Interceptor My vet recommended interceptor for heart worms and advantage for fleas. They didn't want me to start him on any of it until he was over 2 lbs. They also mentioned Sentinel, but he vet he saw Monday said that it's only got flea birth control in it and I would still need a topical flea treatment. I explained that because of his size, he hasn't been outside at all. (We use potty pads) and it's cold right now. She said that we can bring fleas in on our shoes and clothes from pets and animals outside, so she still recommends year round flea preventative. What should I do? We live in Tennessee so we do have cold winters but warm summers. Amazingly, we actually found a one flea on him yesterday! I couldn't believe it! We have been so careful, so now I think she may be right, but I am so uncomfortable using those topical flea treatments. Any suggestions? Also, what about interceptor? Does anyone use it? Any problems or issues? She also mentioned Capstar? I have used this on my large outside dog, but I wasn't sure about a 2.4 lb. yorkie. Thanks for your help and suggestions. |
