My Yorkie is three years old and I took him for a vet check-up to see if he thought he needed a dental and he said nope, not yet and if I were to brush his molars and canine teeth twice a week, I might not have to. I also use the Cool and Clear in the water and the plaque is no long on the caninie teeth so I am mighty impressed with the stuff. Even the malts like it and it does leave their breath fresh smelling as it has a minty scent to it!
