Aiden had to be shaved down the last time we had him groomed..over 1 month ago. I brushed him evry night routine..all my animals jump up everynight for brushing and treats. Anyhow, He had mats close to his skin,that the brush I used,just was not reaching. The groomer had me get a pin brush and matting comb. What a difference. I actually got almost all the dead hair off my longhaired cats also. It's the best thing. I too use detangling sprays that helped alot also. So my point is even if your doing it daily,if your using the wrong brush they can get matted. I was sad to have him shaved down,but actually the porker is much thinner than I thought.
