I think your right on the money. We need to educate our children when they are young. People are embarrassed or wait too long thinking that putting off that talk will deter them. Not to say that at 12 or 13 they will be having sex. I think parents reluctance to discuss this subject is a very dangerous thing. These kids get way too much misinformation from their peers who over hear or learn from an older sibling etc. The best deterrent or medicine is knowledge...we truly have to arm them so they can protect themselves.
