Just wanted to mention that when I was rehoming a sought after breed from the rescue , one time, I asked quite a whooping sum. Not outrageous but top of normal. I knew if I asked little that I would have too many people wanting her without thinking. I carefully interviewed applicants and then after finding a great home ... I informed them there would be NO CHARGE at all.
Probably not the case here but goes to show you that it CAN happen
