One hour is absolutely okay!
While you're gone, I would either gate him off in a kitchen (tiled area, really) OR you can buy a play pen and keep him in that. This is important so that he doesn't get into trouble or hurt while you are gone, and also so that you can protect your valuable carpets.

You can leave food/water, a bed, and a potty pad. He'll be perfectly fine.
Puppies (especially Yorkies) are notoriously hard to potty train so to warn you in advance, there WILL be accidents and more than likely a lot. I would invest in a black light, some good enzyme cleaner (this part is particularly important - enzyme cleaners will destroy
all detectable odors; I suggest Nature's Miracle or Simple Solution), and a steam cleaner. Lastly, just in case, I would take up your rugs if possible to prevent them being ruined until he is reliably potty trained.
