Susie, thank you so very much for all you've done...I talked to the vet again today, she really does not think it's epilepsy...but said she'd try the Phenobarbitol or Potassium Bromide if I wanted to. What kind of answer is that??? But I explained to her that I didn't see an improvement with the Valium, frequent meals...etc...and besides that he is now up to 9 pounds!!! Something has to give...I just wish I knew what to do, it's so frustrating...not knowing or understanding why this happens and how to prevent them from happening. I told her I'd think about it...again. So, the side effects with the anti-seizure medications is liver damage? I'm not sure I even want to go there...I remember all too well how very sick your Tink was.
Does the University of Iowa City have a vet school...nutritionist? I know my way around there pretty well as opposed to Chicago. I want to feed him a commercial dog food, I really don't want to home cook or feed raw...will a nutritionist even talk to me knowing this? I just need guidance...point me in the right direction...
