I'm on the east coast of FL but I'll try to answer. Cost of living varies drastically depending on location (as it does in most states I would guess). The more inland you are the cheaper it is (Orlando being the exception). What kind of work does your son do? Jobs are so hard to come by everywhere in the country right now from what I hear. The gulf coast is beautiful.
