Peed on my bed! Help! One of my sweet furgirls peed in my bed! It was on my side of our king sized bed, probably 12" down from the pillow. I'm not sure which one it was at all, and I have some theories as to who/why they would do this...any thoughts/advice would be helpful!
A little background: Both dogs sleep with us in our bed at night, and during the day they are confined to our large bedroom and sleep on our bed most of the day. I have a rule they can only sleep on top, not under the covers. Our room/bed is their "safe place" where they go when they are tired of company or want quiet time.
Emma is almost 3, and has had anxiety issues in the past. She can get growly with me from time to time, usually because she doesn't want me to move her/take something from her, and sometimes she thinks she owns my husband and wants to be near him without me moving her. We have worked with her on this and correct the growling behavior with a "corrective sit" (per the behaviorist).
Milli is 2, and when we first brought her home we didn't let her sleep in our bed at first. As a puppy, she would pee near the foot of our bed occasionally, I think to let Emma know she was there or to establish dominance. That stopped, and she later earned her way to sleep in our bed. She is typically the "naughty" one and I found her poop under our coffee table tonight...
We did get a new duvet cover/pillows yesterday, and I washed them and put them on the bed last night. Today was their first day home alone with the new bedding. We change sheets regularly though, but this is the first new duvet we have gotten since both the dogs have been with us. Could they just not like it/want it to smell like them?
On top of all that, I am pregnant, due any day now with our first child. I have been having contractions most of the afternoon/evening, and resting most of the night. I wonder if it could have something to do with the baby coming? I also am up this late-I didn't come to bed as I usually do, but went to take a bath and my husband went to bed. I'm not sure when it happened, but I can tell you that changing sheets/comforters at 2 am isn't fun!
Sorry this is so long, just wanted to get to the bottom of it, so any advice is appreciated. Thanks! |
