Was Lexie 15 or 16 months old when she got this shot. It's supposed to be given one year after the first one. Please, don't listen to that Vet. about having the lump removed. In fact, after a remark like that, personally, I'd be looking for a better Vet. Makes me wonder now if he really gave her the correct dosage.
Don't worry, that lump will eventually go away. May take months and up to a year. The reason it caused a lump was because it was given in the wrong spot/muscle.
