I just start introducing the female to the male on the 9th day from when I first notice them bleeding. Some will accept a male then and others might not be ready until the 11th day or a little later. Usually once the bleeding turns light pink or stops all together, the female will start flagging and will be ready. Some females are shy breeders and get scared when the male mounts them. They all act differently. I always hold the female while the male mounts her.
