It is the Norm and I think at some point it just has to be accepted as such. If you can get a "good deal" elsewhere and are happy with the dog you get then you should be thrilled but please quit criticizing others for seeing the value in these creatures and realizing their worth.

I drive old cars because I chose to spend a little extra on my yorkies to get what I wanted and I don't miind at all becuase they have added 10 times what i paid for them to my life already. I have a firend who put her vacation money toward the puppy of her dreams becuase it was her priority and she knew she would get way more from the puppy than from the vacation. It is all about what you really want and how much value you place on it in the end.

I am not trying to hurt anyone's feelings here but it always surprises me when this subject comes up how many people who are always raving about how much they love their dogs and how they are "their children" but when it comes right down to it, they don't even think they are worth $5000.

Most people don't care about the breed standard or showing and place zero value on a dog for those qualities. It is only the small minority who value that. I have a certain look that I like and after you have been around yorkies awhile everyone figures out what they like. We all know that very small is in demand and no one who wants a really small yorkie is into showing it.
I do agree, My life has been blessed in so many ways. I would give any thing I have for my husband, kids, furbabies & friends. They are all priceless to me
