Yes, right!!! Text messaging is completely separate from the BlackBerry Messenger. Texting is SMS text and the BlackBerry Messenger is data which comes from your data plan you pay for per month.
I have AT&T and I do have the $30 data plan per month as does my boyfriend. We also have 200 text messages a month per phone for $5 extra each line.
