I'm pretty sure that Yahoo Messenger uses texts. I think there are programs out there though that make it to where you don't use texts.
Like I said, if you would join Crackberry.com and do a search for any question you have, you will most likely find your answer in less than 5 minutes. It's a forum just like this except it's for BlackBerrys.
Also to clarify something else Cindy said, if you use SMS texting to another BlackBerry you WILL get charged for a text message. The free texting between BlackBerrys is the BlackBerry Messenger and you need the data plan for it. |
When we swapped service on my lg to my Storm, the Verizon staff told me that text messaging was not included in the data plan. You can message other blackberries free of charge and serf the net, but text messaging would be charged per message, since I don't have text messaging as part of my core plan. They did include Yahoo as text messaging.
I'm not sure about the Pearl, but in order to have service on the Storm, Verizon requires you to have their $30.00 per month data plan.
